The Mets offense have their issues and they’re a team that drives me nuts when watching their offense batting. Regardless, this line is too good too pass up. The Mets are battling the tough Dodgers hard so far in this series. It’s a Sunday Night game and the masses will put their money down on the Dodgers and Scherzer to get a sweep tonight.
The public will have no issue laying this heavy juice on the primetime game with a great pitcher like Scherzer. I’m not buying in, Carlos Carrasco so far has looked nothing like his former self in three appearances this season. If you dig deeper you notice one thing, Carrasco has a 6.75 ERA but a 3.60 xFIP. He has a 9/2 K/BB ratio, so his control is still on point. His .345 BABIP proves he’s been pretty unlucky so far this year.
You’re paying a hefty premium here with Scherzer in this game. Look at it like this, in his last start at Philadelphia you had to lay roughly around -140 to bet Scherzer and the Dodgers. We have the Mets now who have a slightly better home record than Philly and a .509 vs .521 (Phillies) overall record comparison and the Dodgers are -170 here? No I’m not buying it, this is a 30 cent premium you’re paying to bet the Dodgers tonight.
The Mets have fought LA hard the last two games and I think they snag one tonight, too much value to pass up for me and I’ll side with the big dog here. Buy low and sell high approach, we’ll buy the Mets low and sell the Dodgers high.
