Pro bettor Chris Torrisi looks start off his 12th consecutive winning week today when the Yankees travel to Kansas City.
This game reminds me a lot of the Marlins and Rockies game we bet last week. The Total at first glance without digging and a knee jerk reaction is an easy Under.
As I said Vegas isn’t in the business to make mistakes when they open these numbers, as I reiterate sometimes they open with really bad numbers but it’s rare and this isn’t one of them. It seems like a big number for two teams who have been Under money makers all year and two starting pitchers who are decent against non less productive offenses.
James Taillon has some interesting home/away splits, he struggles on the highway. At home 3.22 ERA vs 5.27 ERA on the road, WHIP 1.09 at home vs 1.41 on the road, OBP .279 at home vs .332 on the road. He’s allowed 25 earned runs on the road in only 42.7 innings of work vs only 24 earned runs at home in 64.3 innings of work. This Royals offense is no powerhouse but one thing I’ll say is they don’t strikeout much and battle pitchers at the plate. The Royals should be able to produce tonight.
Carlos Hernandez was inserted into the Royals starting rotation after the All-Star Break. He’s had four starts, two vs the White Sox where he was dominant vs that line up. His other two starts vs the Tigers and Orioles were a different story, he has a 10.16 ERA in those starts. He struggled lasting only 6.2 innings allowing 5 hits, 7 earned runs, and a 8/6 K/BB ratio. The rookie Hernandez has faced this Yankees line up in relief only this year and has a 9.00 ERA in limited action. The Yankees suspect offense has shown some life this past week putting up some of their best numbers of the year vs Baltimore and a couple of 5 run spots vs Seattle.
As I always say if it looks too good to be true, dig deeper because it usually is. Nothing in the sports betting marketplace is that easy. Play the Over here.
