Join Chris Torrisi on Sunday for his winning bet when the Braves host the Nationals.
Well guys we wrapped our 11th consecutive winning week! Pretty crazy but we’ll keep it going for one last win this week when Washington plays Atlanta.
Patrick Corbin has been brutal. He’s allowed 4 or more earned runs in five of his last six starts this year. He’s allowed 129 hits in 116 innings of work this year with a 5.74 ERA. On the highway those numbers get even worse, Corbin has a 6.23 ERA on the road with a 1.48 WHIP. No matter how you slice it, Atlanta is a top 10 offense, one of the best in the majors. Corbin has been bombed for 6 home runs in his last two starts alone and this Atlanta team is a dangerous offense vs pitchers prone to give up long balls.
Corbin could be in for a rough day and the Nationals pen in their last games has a 6.15 ERA struggling as well. Atlanta should produce runs today. Max Fried stars for Atlanta and he’s coming off one of his best starts of the year. Fried has good stuff but I think we see him regress today. The Nationals are one of the best teams in baseball against southpaws. Against southpaws they average 5.6 runs per game. Fried has struggled with this line up this year.
This will be their fourth time seeing him, so they are very familiar with his stuff. Fried has a 10.97 ERA this year vs Washington. They’ve battered him for 18 hits, 10 earned runs in only 8.2 innings of work. I think both clubs put up some runs today against these pitchers including bullpens. We can see some fireworks today in Atlanta. Let’s play this one Over.
